While I'm aware of and I think I've read most of the official
guidelines for designing the UI of an Android app, I think I'm missing
an advanced reference for designing "cool" look and feels. I mean, to
have something that is fashionable as the iPhone. Of course, one can
just look at iPhone apps and take some inspiration, but it can also
happen that some iPhone and Android guidelines are not compatible and
merely copying you ends up with a mess. The specific things that I
need to start with are simple: colors, gradients, font sizes and such.
And just starting from this, I've got the impression that most iPhone
apps are "black on white", while Android by default is "white on
black" (sort of Mac vs PC at the end of the '80s, at least partially...).

PS I've mostly talked about guidelines, but of course the matter
implies practical considerations (coding, integrating graphic
resources, etc...). I know that Android 2.2 introduced new features in
this area, but I need to target 1.5.
