Nope, but at least the consumer has a choice if she's unable to wait
for an official solution! The trend has clearly been to factor out
applications from the OS itself, but there will always be a
bootstrapping problem i.e. a phone without contact/messaging/dialer
app would not be of much use which is why, presently anyway, the
applications known as Contacts, Dialer and Messaging are build into
the OS rather than being delegated to the Marked (like is the case
with Gmail, Goggles, Maps, StreetView, YouTube etc.).
