There were quite a few postings like yours to this forum, and the majority
of them had already been answered.
So I would like to offer you the following advices:
If you are not genuine in joining the group to learn Java, *PLEASE LEAVE US
ALONE*.
To the contrary, if you really want to learn Java, you are at the right
place and *WELCOME TO THE GROUP*.
This is what I did when I join earlier in August:
1. Read the course main page in detail and follow the instructions to
download the required resources.
2. Install the appropriate software. I use windows XP, and I downloaded
and installed the JDK and NetBeans by following the instructions; when
installing NetBean, it set up a default classpath for you. (For details,
refer to previous post regarding classpath issue).
3. Queries regarding on how the course is run and homework issue, read
the relevant section on the course main page, and the FAQ.
4. Do the course topics by
1. Going through the PDF tutorial.
2. Following the links to study on the additional resource.
3. Try to understand and do the topic exercises.
4. Do the topic homework.
5. You will encounter problem doing the homework, what you need to do is
to persevere, go though the tutorial again, try to understand the exercise,
check what you have learnt so far, still stuck? Check on the forum for
similar problem, post you problem showing what you have done and your
result. *You question will always be answered*.
6. Submit your homework, the due date of all homework is *two weeks after
the final class* so you have plenty of time to finish them, and you can
resubmit the homework as necessary.
7. Still in doubt? Read the course main page, FAQ, and topic again.
This is a great group, there is a lot of fun learning with this group, but
it requires a fair bit of effort (for me anyway), and it is extremely
rewarding.
So join in the fun!
