Thought this was of particular interest to the group: http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2009/04/new-features-and-early-look-at-java-for.html
The Google App Engine for their Cloud Computing Environment, which up until now has been solely available to Python scripters/coders, has gone Java as of today. Java applications will run against a Java 6 JVM, and Google is being tight lipped about whether this is Sun's JVM, or a Java 6 compliant third party. As soon as I heard about this I applied for access to the 10,000 slot beta. If anyone else applies, and is accepted, to the Beta I'd like to know.
