I'm not sure you miss anything, because if you work with jdk 1.7,
assuming that this version is available for your system (which is not
the case for Mac OS X for example), you should also work with
glassfish v3, that is jee 1.6; and then you may have much more trouble
than with jee 1.5, as it is very new, and not completely integrated
with netbeans.
To put in brief, it may be sometimes wise not be always on the cutting
edge. Not to mention that in the real life, compatibility is much more
important than novelty.
