Interesting, thanks.  I hadn't considered that the kernel scheduler 
interval would have an effect - I guess that's why not every javax.usb 
user would see a problem.

And performance is improved just as much as with 100ms.  With a 10ms 
sleep my test now sees LinuxRequestProxy#isRequestWaiting() invoked only 
0.6% times as much as with the 0ms sleep.
