Hi Jason,

what I think happened with the num pad is that when you plug it in, your
computer conflicts with the function key ability to create a num pad on the
laptop's keyboard.

This, I believe, is a common thing with all laptops, except the ones that have
a full sized keyboard.

Having said that, however, I believe the only fix is a complicated one, meaning
you may have to go into the notebook's configuration and disable the laptop's
num pad extension feature.

This is complicated because you would have to disable the num lock feature that
the function key provides.

I know, it sounds complicated, and I wouldn't even be able to tell you how to
do it, as I have the same problem.

It might just be easier to just use the arrow keys to go back and forth past
the word to listen to it again.

I know, it's a pain in the ass, but what can you really do?

In terms of your work at home, I think you should concentrate on the version of
Office you are using, as opposed to the Jaws version you are using.

There are vast differences in the ME platform and the XP platform, especially
when it ones to accessibility with the various office products and the
platforms they are associated with.

Let me know what version of Office or Word you are using and I or someone else
might possibly have a solution for you.

Victor
