Hi Rich,
Favorites are actually shortcuts to their rrespective websites.
I use folders to categorize websites.
Example:
for the blind: sites specifically aimed at the blind and visually impaired.
general computing: sites pertaining to computers
Reference: sites such asdictionaries, on-line retailers, search engines etc.
Using a folder structure such as this allows you to quickly narrow your search for a site of particular interest.

Richard Justice

Hi guys;
This has been very helpful.
I am not sure why , or what putting favorites in different folders would do.
My impression is that favorites are just web sites that can be accessed
quickly.
What are some suggestions on putting them in different folders?
How would this be helpful?

Thank you for the help.

Rich

A quicker way to get to the favorites folder is:

1. Press windows key R
2. Type in favorites and press enter.
3. This puts you directly in your favorites folder and then you can put
them
in to folders if you like.

Hi Rich,

Just open up the favourites menu, then press the applications key to the
left of the right control key.

Once you do this, Jaws may not speak that the applications menu is open,
but
don't worry, just arrow up or down and you'll find it is open.

Once you find that it is open, just arrow up to sort by, then arrow to
name
and press enter.

This will organize your favourites menu into alphabetical order.

If, on the other hand you want to place them in folders, I would suggest
you
do it via the favourites folder on your hard drive, as opposed to doing it
through the menus.

I just find it easier and less frustrating.

To do this, just go into your my computer, under the c: drive, then into
documents and settings, then to your name, or the name of the default user
on the computer, usually, that's your name, then pressing enter on the
favourites folder. At this point you'll be able to create folders and
move
your existing favourites into existing folders just by cutting and
pasting.

Again, this is just my preference, and others may find it easier another
way.

Victor
