And I guess you are using Internet Explorer 7?  The following assumes you are.  
There are as-yet unresolved issues between IE7 and ftp clients, because IE7 has 
changed the manner of acciessing ftp sites.  For now, use Windows Explorer 
address bar to type in the address.  If you need to cut, copy or paste, use 
Windows Explorer.  IE (or perhaps ftp exploerer itself) takes care of 
downloading.
