Hi Corey,

From your post, it says that you see no reason to get another service upgrade
for 300 dollars as yours has run out in March.

Does this mean you're going to be using a version of Jaws less than 8 or 8 and
above.

Answering this question will answer your original question.

If you are going to be using Jaws version 7.1 and below, your best bet is to
buy a computer sooner, rather than later.

As it is, new computers will still have the option of having XP on them,
therefore, if you're going to be buying a computer from places like Best Buy,
Radio Shack, Dell or HP, or if you live in Canada, future Shop, there will be
systems available that are relatively cheap and will be running Windows XP.

If you decide to buy later, you'll only be able to get systems that are running
Vista, as these places tend to sell you systems that are state of the art,
which means more expensive and more updated, and, as people have already said,
7.1 and lower will not work with Vista.

On the other hand, if you have or plan to have Jaws 8 in your hand, than you
may want to wait until later, as there are no doubt going to be updates and
consumer problems outlined with Vista that are currently not known.

I always wait until much later before I get on the bandwagon, otherwise you
have to wade through the problems before there is a fix for them.

Victor
