  Select the >>> and then press JAWS Plus D. then when the dialog box opens 
press enter. in the edit field you should see >>> if not type the grater signs 
here. tab to the next field and type space. next tab to OK and type enter. next 
exit by typing alt F. followed by x. and you should be rid of the >>> signs. 

  Note you may want to do the same for the double grater sign. Also you can 
assign a sound for these characters.

  Is there any way to stop jaws from reading greater greater greater when 
reading forwards?  I have jaws 8 and have my punctuation set to none.
