I forgot to mention that if you saved the file that you downloaded, then you
can just run the installation without redownloading JAWS.

  Hi,
The easiest way to repair JAWS if you downloaded it is to re-download it and
install it again. During the installation, it will give you the option to
repair JAWS. Just choose that option and JAWS will be repaired for you.

If you can afford it you should just get the program.
Then you won't have the problems that you are having now.

        That's a good question.
How did you get it in the first place?

If my memory is right,if you have your CD just put it into your
drive, then some where you should find a repair on the cd.
            Just click on that.
I'm not sure if it'll ask for prompts or just do it's own thing.
I never had to do it for myself.
            I wish you luck.

                Anita,

This does not make any sense but this type thing seems to
happen with computers. Have you tried to run a JAWS repair or uninstall and
then reinstall the software?

any alternatives?

I don't think you need to. once you have it to start at
start up you're fine.
