I'm aware of that option, but you're correct in that I do need to double
check those settings again. In fact Patty and I were just discussing that
over breakfast. Honestly though I haven't got there yet today, but soon for
sure. It's kind of nice in a way having the speech and sounds manager sounds
coming out of a separate card because it is less confusing. I do need to
change some wires around here before somebody especially me gets hurt. Thank
you for getting back to me on this subject.

David,

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like you'd prefer all sounds being
sent through the external sound device. To do this go to Control
Panel/Sounds and Multi-Media. The second tab is Audio and it will list all
enabled sound devices on your PC, select the external and continue through
the dialog box for whatever other settings you feel you need to modify and
ultimately to OK. This will result in the system seeing the external sound
device as the default.

On the other hand, if you only want JAWS speaking through the external card
does the "Synth#Port" directive in the JFW.INI for the given synthesizer
work? I would think it would, but maybe not -- I'm not sure because I've
never tired it. Hmmm, maybe I should.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] using multiple sound cards

Here's the deal, as many of you know my system crashed on Monday so believe
me keeping my time table for this list to move wasn't easy by any stretch of
the imagination. Enough of that for now, here's my question. I have 2 sound
cards but I prefer that everything run through my external which I had
before the system crash. Last night I replaced the fix to make eloquence run
through the external but all of the other jaws sounds including the real
speak voices are still using the internal. I might be suffering a bit from
burn out or an early senior moment. Any and all suggestions will be welcome.
Remember I created this list to learn like everybody else, thanks gang.
