Hi, Or, just to save from removing all of those programs, buy a computer sold in the small business section. For example: On this laptop I am typing this message on,it has nothing like that on it (all it had on it when I first used it for the first time was Windows XP SP2, JAWS, IE 6, and all of the other standard applications that come with Windows (except for the Dell software (called Dell Quick Set, which is used to adjust such things as volume, screen brightness, and other things.) Of course, it didn't come from Dell with JFW installed, it was installed after the computer was set up. The other thing Dell has installed on this machine is the Intel ProSet Wireless software for the internal wireless card, the Broadcom drivers for the internal Ethernet card, and drivers for the modem and The Dell utility that lets you see what your Express Service Code is.

I always remove all the extra programs they put on a commercial computer. Most if not all are programs that are only trial versions that time out and then ask you to purchase them, or only striped down versions of the program. In most cases other third party programs that do the same thing work better and are more usable with jaws. I would uninstall all of them except for anything like dell diagnostics programs or check for dell updates. I have a Dell Desk top and it came with all the bells and whistle. I think that I still have those demo programs since day one (2004) and I am wondering what ones you got rid of? I keep coming across programs that I never use, but I am a little concern whether I should uninstall them or just leave them alone taking up valuable disk space. Please let me know which ones you got rid of.
