Freedom Scientific has told me in the past to uninstall the previous version of JAWS before putting a new version on my computer. This does not affect authorization because that is stored in a different place. If you have authorized a previous version, the new one will be authorized without having to connect to Freedom Scientific. Settings such as speech rate and dictionary changes will need to be reset once the new version is installed Blessings, Tom
