Hi Lisa. Earlier, Jaws did need an authorization CD. But I think that the version 8 authorizes directly through a connection with the Internet. I believe that you will find that particular choice in one of your Jaws menus. I believe it's under Help. It reads something like "Update Authorization" and by choosing that, your system will take you to the site directly and the process is automated.
