You should be able to highlight a non-breaking space and copy it to the clipboard. Go to 'find and replace' paste the character in the find field, replace it with nothing--just tab past the replace--or with a blank, tab to replace all and press enter.
If yu replace with nothing, there won't be a space; so maybe you want to replace it with a blank. I don't know if you can do that--but maybe. Good luck.
