Hi Orhan and Chris, yes I know that a lot of people use avg without any trouble, but for some reason it isn't working as should for me. Yes Orhan, it was the same pod cast we both listened to. Thanks for your tip about using the space bar. The problem is, I am not getting any of those buttons(or any others for that matter) showing up. I have tried tabbing. I have also routed the pc cursor to Jaws, but do not find any buttons. Jaws does confirm that it is avg 7.5 free that I am using. The only thing Jaws reads is a lot of unnamed graphics. It reports my last scan and last update as yesterday, which is when I installed it. As far as I know though, no such scan has been done. It then talks about things like premium updates not being available. This makes sense, as it is only the free version and not the paid one. It then gives a rundown as to why it is worth upgrading to the paid version. That is all that Jaws reads to me on the screen after I launch avg from my desktop. Something else I notice, is that when I installed avg, I was asked to create a start window folder. However, I don't have an avg shortcut icon in my start menu. Avg also does not show up in my system tray, and yet I think the manual or the podcast said it would be there.
