Do you mean the USB audio techneca or the USB logitec headset to make default under the recording tab. Leaving your internal card as the default play back. Also make sure that the microphone is set to be the default recording device. That sounds to me like the way to . -----Original Message----- From: Kimsan Sent: Thursday, March 23, 2017 11:36 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] recording with jaws David: You're correct. I also have an audio techneca microphone I can use as well, which I only mention so people reading will know what all I have to work with. So to have jaws come over the USB logitec headset so the internal speaker will not pick it up, how do I accomplish this? Do I go to sounds/play back or recording under CTRL panel and select the headset to be the default and under also under the soundcard option and select the headset as well to accomplish this? I'm really digging total recorder, so I might be using it for my recording. Since I just purchased the program last night, not sure if this program can do things like goldwave/audacity as it pertains to mixing. Speaking of mixing, when I was researching how to resolve my issue, I went to the audio page, listened to your what you hear recording, but it was the exact opposite of what I wanted to do. That's not my point though, I also saw a power mixer tutorial on there and it sounded cool, and you can't beat $17.95, but not sure how old that tutututorial was and if power mixer works with windows 10. You have a headset, an external sound card with speaker and the internal card in your system. You want to record yourself but not JAWS. It sounds like if JAWS comes over the external speaker then the microphone will pick it up. You might need to have jaws come over the headset so the mike does not pick it up and other sounds over the default card in your system. I realize this might be difficult for your situation, but that is what it sounds to me like what you will have to do. -----Original Message----- From: Kimsan Sent: Thursday, March 23, 2017 2:32 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: [JAWS-Users] recording with jaws Hi, I would like to record a podcast of sort but I'm unsure of how to not have jaws be heard during the recording of the podcast. I'm using a windows 10 machine, I have audacity, total recorder and virtual recorder to experiment with. I'm at an understanding that jaws will need to run on another soundcard? So, I have a sabrent external sound card, and during the recording I will be wearing a logitec wired headset. Does anyone have suggestions on how I can perform the above with any of the programs I've listed? I hope none of the suggestions will include jaws in one ear via another headset and the recording being done via another headset, as I only have 1 ear to work with as I'm deaf in the other ear. Thank you for reading and for any suggestions.
