As Mike wrote, when you press JAWS key+f to search in an MS Word document, you can repeat the search by pressing JAWS key+F3. Both are JAWS commands. When you press control+f to search, there's more than one way to repeat the search, and you've identified two of them. All these commands are Microsoft, not JAWS. With the JAWS search, you must type in the entire word. This has limitations. For example, a search for "engine" won't bring up the plural, while a search for "engines" won't bring up the singular.
