Hello Jerry,

The easiest method is probably typing in the Unicode number followed by Alt
x. A checkmark symbol can be entered by typing 2713 and then using Alt with
x before pressing spacebar. A heavy checkmark symbol can be entered by
typing in 2714 followed immediately by Alt x. There isn't a hotkey in Word
for this symbol but it is in the symbols dialog box using the Arial MS
Unicode font and dingbats in the subset. You need to use the JAWS cursor in
that dialog box but if you find the checkmark you can click it and then add
a shortcut key if you want. AutoCorrect could also be used and set up so
that the symbol would be entered when you type something like CHKMRK.
However, if you know the Unicode value of a symbol you can type it and then
use Alt x to insert that symbol into a document.

Take care.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Check Mark in MS Word 2013

Morning all.

Can anyone tell me the process for inserting a checkmark in MS Word 2013? I
am using JAWS 2018 and Windows 10 on a Dell laptop. Thanks in advance.

Jerry
