He was a lovely man whom I knew from the Blind Audible list and the VR Stream Users list. He provided me with an incredible amount of help with my Victor Reader Stream and with using Audible when I was a member. His directions were always clear and concise and he was so very patient. He also helped me do a few things with Jaws. The last thing he did was to tell me where I could get a simple accessible cell phone, and that was perhaps, two years ago. I'll miss him.

Cox I'm sorry to report that Jerry, who used his formal G.W. Cox name in his posts, died on January 3rd. I don't know if he posted here, but either way, some current members will recall him from another JAWS list. during the years he was an active contributor, he gave accurate, concise and always helpful advice. He and I had interests in common and became friends off-list. From that, I know that he also helped a number of people over the phone. Jerry was a Vietnam vet, though he became a critic of that war, and later editor of newspapers in Puerto Rico and New Mexico. He grew up in or near Chicago and obtained his college degree from the University of Oklahoma. If I remember correctly, he lost his vision shortly after 2000 and later sustained a stroke that impaired his speech and movement. But since he hardly ever spoke of such things and never complained, the details haven't stayed in my head. He had a warm sense of humor and an eagerness to share his knowledge and the wisdom he'd gained from experience. He leaves behind his wife, the daughter he doted on and his beloved sister, among many others whose lives he touched. He was a good man, and I will miss him. A "reception" will be held for him on Monday between 4 and 6 Mountain Time, and a webpage has been set up for anyone who would like to read his obituary and maybe post a remembrance.
