Yes, FS could add something similar as the feature on Windows 10 Narrator. At least when used in Microsoft Edge, Windows 10 Narrator can send a picture with no meaningful alternative text to Microsoft in order to get the description (and perhaps text) based on a neural network, that is, artificial intelligence. Facebook already gives general descriptions of many common photo scenes, but it is still unable to make OCR. By the way, the only it can tell you is “Picture may cointain: text.”
Currently, the best way to make JAWS to OCR over a photo is to download it and use the Recognize with JAWS option in the file's context menu. -----Original Message----- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Maria Campbell Sent: Friday, January 26, 2018 2:51 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: [JAWS-Users] OCR on text in photos When is VFO going to make available the ability to read text on photos, such as the ones in Facebook? That would be very nice and helpful. -- Maria Campbell lucky1i...@gmail.com "Preach the Gospel, and when necessary use words!" --St. Francis For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/ --- El software de antivirus Avast ha analizado este correo electrónico en busca de virus. https://www.avast.com/antivirus For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/
