No, this is on my wifes laptop. And a friend of mine did a remote access,
and found out that apparently, one of the windows updates did not do the
driver support updates for that CD rom. So, we are going to purchase an
external USB CD Rom. Thanks anyway.

Is this the same drive you were having trouble with before?
I don't know, but it sounds like some kind of hardware issue to me. Maybe
try some of the steps listed on this page?

Afternoon all.
On a Toshiba Laptop with Windows 10, my wifes CD ROM does not show up in
“This PC”. We went into the Control Panel, and found it through that. We
confirmed that all of the drivers are up to date. But when we place a disk
in the drive, it will not show up. Any suggestions/recommendations? This
laptop does not use JAWS as my wife is fully sighted. Thanks.
