I'm definitely aiming in that direction. But what do you mean by "clunky"?
Do you mean in terms of scan results, or interface?

I've been using Abbyy fine reader for a while now after the Omnipage
Ultimate release which I found to be less than ultimate.
Like Omnipage, A F R is a bit clunky in places, but for me it produces much
better results, particularly with tables.
Give it a go!
