This method would have worked beautifully if the key stroke had worked. The problem was that pressing the space bar wouldn't check what I wanted. Luckily, I could turn off Magic, get to what I wanted to do, and then have a sighted person check ascending with the mouse, and now everything is fine. My problem now is that there are a few things that my computer isn't doing properly and I need to find a sighted computer person to look at the hardware, I think. If I shift tab, I get to a tree few where I can open or close things. But I can't change the order from a to z in the documents folder or the sub folders within it.
