Hi Adrian, Have you looked at the Associate with Text checkbox? When adding a placemarker this checkbox is unchecked by default, so you mark a line in the virtual representation instead of a specific text, therefore any small change on the page causes the link or whatever unit you have marked to be misslocated. If you know a string of text that the part you want to mark always have regardless of changes, you can check this checkbox, tab once and enter the corresponding part of text. By the way, you will always reach the same element as long as the string of text you have associated to the placemarker is present, no matter of the line number.
Hope it helps! -----Original Message----- From: JAWS-Users-List <jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com> On Behalf Of Adrian Spratt Sent: Saturday, April 21, 2018 8:31 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: [JAWS-Users] Permanent placemarkers Earlier this week, Justin commented that placemarkers don't always hold their place, which is true. However, I've found that they are dependable when I put them on a link. Sometimes it means putting it a line or two away from a logical spot, but I think they've been stable every time I do this. As a reminder, the dialog to set a permanent placemarker is begun with control-shift-k. Tab from there.
