I'm having the same problem, reading messages formatted as tables. If I start at the top and press the jaws key and numpad 2, usually Jaws will read everything, but not always. And periodically, various messages cause Outlook to close. Also Jaws regularly does a disappearing act, something I can't predict. It just makes using the computer very tedious.

Until you find a fix, an alternative is JAWS key+tab. For the record, I continue to have problems reading any messages formatted as tables. -----Original Message----- From: JAWS-Users-List <[email protected]> On Behalf Of Gary Lee Sent: Friday, May 25, 2018 8:49 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [JAWS-Users] lost reading of status line with jaws 2018 and outlook 2016 just upgraded to latest jaws 2018. now insert-pgdn which used to read status line at bottom of inbox screen now reads the "search inbox" line at the top of the screen. Like it is in another window, and can't be moved. tried unrestricting the jaws cursor, then doing a jaws to pc, no joy. any ideas would be helpful.
