Hello Waqas,

There are a few different ways to read the footnotes in word 2003 using JAWS
9. Make sure the verbosity is set for JAWS to speak footnotes. use
Insert-V to bring up the verbosity box while in Word, and then press C until
you get to the "comments, endnotes and footnotes" choice. If it is turned
off then use spacebar to make the choice active.

First, using Alt-V followed by "F" moves you between the main document and
the footnotes. You can use up and down arrow keys to read the information.
Using Alt-V followed by F again returns you to your starting point.

When you insert a footnote there is a reference number created at the cursor
position. If you use up or down arrow keys to move on to a line with a
footnote, you can move to the reference number's location on the line and
use Alt with Shift and E to read the footnote text associated with that
reference number.

You can also turn on quick keys by using insert Z and then use the letter O
to move to footnote reference marks. Each time you press O you will move to
a different footnote. When you get to a reference number that you want to
hear footnote text for then press Alt with shift and E. Shift with O moves
footnote reference mark to footnote reference mark back toward the top of
the document when navigation quick keys are turned on.

I believe that you can also use insert with shift and E to list all
footnotes in a document, but I am not at a desktop system right now so I
can't try it to be sure.

    Take care.

Brian Lee
