Hi Mike, It sounds like there could be something obscuring the window. Either unload, and reload Jaws, or try a re-boot. As for the volume icon, control panel, sound and audio devices when that opens, tab to the checkbox to show the volume icon on the task bar, and uncheck it. Tab to the okay button, and spacebar it, and close out of the control panel. HTH, Richard Q.
