Thanks Tim and all the others who gave us help with this matter. I did a dumb thing trying to set a bookmarker and ended up pressing, alt-control-M and hearing jaws say volume set to 0 freaked me out trying to bring back the volume. I wasn't in the main window or this wouldn't have been an issue in the first place...
