Before purchasing one, you should contact a sales rep from various providers so you can try it out first. Check and compare features so that you can get one that meets your needs.
You might also check some websites to see if someone is selling a used model. That would save you some money and give you a chance to check out the features of a particular model. A major issue for you is what happens when it doesn't work. Where do you have to send it to get it fixed and how long will it take and how much will it cost. If you live in a large metropolitan area, see if there is some person or some agency that you can take it too for repair.
