I'm using Office 2007, and find it works well with JAWS 9 I've only had JAWS 10 on my computer for one day yet, but it has solved one problem I've had in Access. I'm very happy with it, but if 2003 is working well for you, I don't see a great advantage in spending the money to upgrade. I can't speak to the security issue.
