I got the program and I install it. Can I burn a DVD that I have in my PC? I have many movies in my PC that I would like to have in DVD so I can take it to work.

Hi,
Thanks for this information. This is one of the programs I was considering
when doing searches on the Internet previously. But I had no idea if it
would work with Jaws or not. Now I have two programs to try so I am bound
to get those home movies onto a DVD.
Thanks again.

Hello Holger,

DVD Flick is a good free DVD authoring program. The newest version will do the necessary encoding, create the DVD folders on your hard drive, and has burning capabilities. It will create DVDs from .AVI, .MPG, .WMV, .RM, .MOV,
.MP4, .M4V, .FLV, and others.

I have used DVD Flick to author DVDS and then burned them with Image Burn,
however, it appears that the newest version of DVD Flick has burning
capabilities as well.

One thing I need to do when I open DVD Flick is to use the JAWS screen
refresh command in order for the toolbar on the third line from the top of the screen to be read by JAWS,. The JAWS cursor needs to be used to access
the toolbar items. However, adding files, selecting output location and
such steps can be done by using the tab key to move to the controls.

By default burning is not turned on, so a person needs to find the "project settings" choice on the toolbar and do a left click on it. The tabs in the project settings dialog are shown down the side, so again a person needs to
do a left mouse button click simulation on the "burning" choice. you can
then put on PC cursor and use tab key to move to a check box for burning the
DVD and checking it. You can then tab to the accept button to save
settings.

You do not have to create a new project. all you need to do is open the
files to be included, click on "project settings" and accept them, and then
click on the "create DVD" choice on the toolbar. When in the project
settings dialog, you should also click on the video tab and make sure NTSC is the active radio button if you are in North America, or PAL if you are in Europe. A lot of newer DVD players are able to play both PAL and NTSC, but
you will want to find out which one you should be using. The frames per
second rate is different for the PAL standard than it is for the NTSC
standard. Again, I found that the toolbar can be showing and then not be
recognized by JAWS, but a screen refresh usually makes JAWS start
recognizing the icons again.

If you need any more info then let me know, as once you have done it a time
or two it becomes quite straightforward.

DVD Flick will create a DVD folder with the Audio_TS and video_TS folders on the hard drive, so if you don't want to use DVD Flick for burning then you
can use a program like Image Burn (which is also a free program).

Take care.

I am using Free DVD burner to burn data dvd's. It is very easy and free. The only hangup I have found at all is that after I burn a dvd I have to
completely close out the program before starting another different dvd.
When I try to delete the folder and add another it always gives me an
error
message. But it is really simple. I read about it on Fred's Head
Companion.
Here is the info from that source:
One of the most frustrating things that still remains for Windows XP is
that
you can't burn data directly to a DVD. This is very unfortunate because
of
the amount of storage space on a DVD. Well, the folks at MiniDVDSoft.com
are
out to change this with a FREE program.

Free DVD Burner is an ideal tool to burn data DVD/CDs. It can easily burn
files onto most DVD/CD discs such as CD-R,CD-RW,DVD-R,DVD+R, DVD-RW and
DVD+RW.

With Free DVD Burner, you can use a screen reader and burn DVD/CDs from
files and folders for backing up your data on DVD/CD. Free DVD Burner
allows

you to burn data DVD/CDs in a few minutes and it's completely FREE.
Simply
select the files and folders you want to put on a DVD/CD and press the
"Start Burn" button and let the program do the rest.

Click this link to download Free DVD Burner from
http://www.minidvdsoft.com/dvdburner.

Welcome to the list. I'm not sure about DVD creators, but if you want to
burn CD's, one thing you can use is Windows Media Player, which comes
with
Windows, but you could also use Winamp to burn music CD's, if that's what
you want to do. Hopefully someone else can fill in the DVD creator
question, or suggest something else that would perhaps do both. Again,
welcome to the list, and hope you find it helpful and informative. Don't
be
afraid to ask us pretty much any JAWS-related question. there's probably
bound to be someone who knows the answer. Mark
