If view messages by conversation is unchecked and we are still hearing 'collapsed', then that is a false report. I don't find any other way messages could be 'collapsed' unless view by conversation is, in fact, checked. Have her: Unload JAWS; reload it; and Press enter, NOT spacebar, on view messages by conversation, and repeat the process if necessary, to uncheck it.
