You can use the find dialog box in Word to find bold or italic text.
1. Use CTRL-F to bring up the "find" dialog box.
2. Use tab key to move to the "more" button and press spacebar.
3. Use shift-tab keystroke to move to the "format menu" button and press
enter key.
4. Press enter key on the font choice in the resultant menu.
5. Use tab key to the "font style" list and use down arrow until you get
to the "bold" choice and press enter key.
6. Use tab key to the "find next" choice and press the spacebar.
JAWS should find and speak the first occurrence of bold text that is found.
Use the "find next" button to find additional text that is bold in the
document.
You can also use the find dialog to find underlined text. In the font
dialog instead of pressing enter key on the bold choice just continue to use
tab key to move to the "underline style" choice. Use down arrow key in the
"underline" style list or perhaps alt+down arrow to open the list and then
down arrow key.
The above is quite helpful in large documents. In smaller documents you
might just want to use a scheme that speaks attributes in different voices.
