If he uses xp, check if in control panel/accesibility options if the sticky keys is checked. If not, let him check it and confirm with ok. But before that, he can explore what options he has under the settings button. There is the following checkbox "Turn StickyKeys off if two keys are pressed at once". That may be the problem.

Hello list,
I am helping a blind person with poor hands coordination using the computer and I am introducing sticky keys, but sticky keys shut off when another key combination is pressed. For example, to select a word we have to press shift and ctrl keys together while pressing right arrow key.
But sticky keys function shuts off if any combination keys are pressed.
Any idea on how to solve this problem please?
