Hello Reese,

Here is one way you can do it:

1. To move into the "protect" group box press the Alt key followed by the letter "R" for the review choice, followed by the letters "p r" for the "protect" choice.
2. Press the enter key on the "restrict formatting and editing" choice.
3. Use tab key to the "allow only this type of editing in the document" checkbox and press spacebar to check it if it is not checked. 4. use tab key again to the following combo box and use up or down arrow to move to the "filling in forms" choice. 5. Use tab key to the button for starting protection and answer "yes" by pressing spacebar. 6. Enter a password if you want to, use tab key and enter it again, and then tab to the OK button and press enter.

You might have to use Alt-tab to move away from the document and then move back to it to move focus back into the document. At least, this is one problem I have had with JAWS 10.

If you want to access the protection choices more quickly then you might consider adding the choice to the quick access toolbar. The "protect document" button is at the end of the bottom of the ribbon under the "review" page. If you move to it and press the application key you will have a context menu appear. There is a choice to add the button to the quick access toolbar and you can press enter on that choice. You can then access the button by pressing the Alt key followed by the number for the choice on the quick access toolbar. This makes it considerably quicker to access.

Take care.
