It seems like this posting you just made is in plain text. I know this
because when I replied to your email, the plain text option was already
checked under the format menu.

You do not need to go through numerous menus. The option is in your Format
menu. You can either locate your Format menu by pressing the alt key and
using the left and right arrow keys or simply press alt plus O. Once you do
this press the up arrow and you will have two options: (1) plain text and
(2) rich text (HTML.)

Try replying to this email--though not actually sending anything unless you
want to--and see if you can locate the check boxes in your Format menu. You
should find for this email that your plain text option is already checked.

HTML is the default setting for sending email. I am not sure what list
you
are referring to but that does surprise me that they would specifically
ask
for plain text email. HTML allows you to include pictures and links. As
far
as I can tell, all of the emails you have sent to the JAWS forum are in
HTML--and this does not bother me.

An easy way to change the formatting of the email you are writing is to
press the alt key and pull down your Format menu. Go down the options in
this menu and you will find an option to write your email in plain text.
Press enter and it will warn you that you may lose some of the data in
your
email--pictures, symbols, etc. Press enter again to confirm you want to
go
ahead anyway. I would not recommend saving these changes permanently
since
most people prefer receiving email in HTML. I am not sure if you can make
such a change.

I did try to follow instructions how to switch and now need to know if
this
is fixed in your direction. Any more html that you received or any
strange
symbols? Thanks.
