It has a USB connection for the transmitter, and everything works great except for the mic level. I'll call Plantronics and see what they say. Thanks so much for the help. I appreciate it. I hate when these things happen. Almost ranks up there with fixing one thing and having two more break! Thanks again.

If so then I'm out of ideas. I've done that, but the only thing under adjust recording is wave in. I follow the steps, but there is no advance button, only one place to select the wave in level. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jon Pierson" <joncpier...@comcast.net> To: <jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com> Sent: Wednesday, July 22, 2009 6:07 PM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] wireless headset questions Hi Vicky, 1. In the volume control you first go to the options menu and pick properties. 2. Then in the dialog that comes up, make sure the correct device is selected. 3. Tab to the pair of radio buttons and select "adjust for recording". 4. Next tab to and press ok. 5. Then tab to the mic volume and tab once more and check the box so that it is selected. 6. Tab again to advanced and press the spacebar. Each sound device is different but in there should be a mic boost. Try checking it or whatever you need to do to turn it on and press ok. Hope that helps. I recently purchased a Plantronics 995 stereo headset. The sound is great, but for some reason I can't get the mic level to work. It's at 100% and people can barely hear me. I read several reviews on this product, and they all said how good the mic sounded on Skype and other chat sites. If anyone is familiar with this headset, are there tips I need to know to fix the mic? Also, I was told that a y fi connection with a wireless headset didn't work with screen readers, rather the screen reader wouldn't work with that connection. The set I have has a USB connection. Has anyone had luck with a y fi or blue tooth headset or perhaps another USB set? Thanks.
