Personally, I find no problems with Microsoft Word, as my html editor of
choice.
I have written several websites using it, and it is easy to use with Jaws.
I like to keep things simple, and have other things I'd rather do than hand

I can't see the website, and it is not written for the sighted world,
so you won't find the elements such as graphics, combo boxes etc.
The entire site is text, and hyper-links, and is by it's simple nature,
accessible with any screen-reader, without having to
be concerned adding additional accessibility.
I really don't care much for the internet, in hat it tires me to go to
websites that insist on having the same
text and links repeated on every page.
Yes, Word does introduce additional code into the raw html document, but it
doesn't seem to have any adverse affect on the functionality of the site.
I would just say, in the end, it a matter of personal preference and how you
want the site to be.
