Hi
On the leave feed back button issue, one way to tackle it with JAWS is
as follows. First, switch to the JAWS cursor. Next rout JAWS to PC. On E-Bay
you may not actually land on the same word as the PC cursor is sitting.
Arrow down to the line that says leave feed back. Place your Jaws cursor on
the word leave or feed back. Finally, use the JAWS simulated left mouse
click to activate the button. This routine has worked for me for some time
now. One side note. Be sure to switch back to the PC cursor before
navigating around the next WebPages.
    Enjoy.

God bless,
Mark Torgerson
if you switch to the JAWS cursor and use the search feature one can then do
the simulated left mouse click from JAWS

Hi Kim:

I just upgraded to Jaws 9 a few weeks ago. Until then, I had used Jaws
6.2 for several years. I have used eBay extensively, with few problems.
The most annoying problem that I still have with eBay, even with Jaws 9,
is that I cannot click on the button to leave feedback. I have to have a
sighted person use the mouse to click the submit button for me.
Frustrating.
Don't hesitate to give eBay a try, just be careful who you buy from. Feel
free to ask any other eBay related questions.

Thanks. I am still wondering if EBay works with older versions of Jaws
or not.

I am aware that a lot of sites and some programs and such are a real pain
in the neck when one is using an older version of Jaws.
I am using Jaws 7.0
So, help is greatly appreciated.

Hi John and list,

This whole EBay thread brings up an interesting question,
are any of you aware of a jaws based EBay/Paypal tutorial? I
have been on the site several times but was never
comfortable enough with it to participate in the bidding
process.

Try www.bidnip.com. The site is completely accessible with
Jaws and is the
best way to get your bid in right at the very end. I have
used it several
times and it works very well.

Thanks Mark, I'll try pressing B and shift enter, as the
rests are
correct.
One more question please: what key to use to read eBay's
time update?
Wile on the eBay's display, time is still the same, but
when I get out and
back again, I can tell then the difference.
What I did is set my time count down, so I don't need to
get out and back
and lose the item I'm watching.
Cheers,

Estelita

Hi Estelita,
I will be glad to explain how I place a bid. I may be
running a
different version of JAWS. So, it may work a little
different with
different versions. However, I will give it my best shot.
First you will want to register as a buyer on E-Bay.
Next a person
searches for the item they want to bid on. Once you are
ready to bid,
enter
the maximum price you wish to bid in the box. With JAWS
10 and IE 8,
there is a
label right under the box that says place bid. On the
next line is the
actual bid button. I recall several times when I was
first placing
bids that I would press enter on the label and not on the
button under
it.
Nothing happens if you press enter on the label. Pressing
the letter B
should land you on the button. If enter doesn't activate
the button then
shift enter should work.
Next, if you are not logged in to the site, you will
be asked for
your
user name and password. Then you will be given a
description of what you
are
bidding on and told the amount you said you are willing
to pay. If all
this
information is correct, press enter on the conformation
button. Your bid
should be accepted and a new screen appears showing your
bidding status.
Hopefully you have a green check showing you are in the
lead.
One side note. If you see an item for $0.99 for
instance and you
placed
a bid for $5.00, the actual bid that E-bay shows may be
allot less. This
is
because E-bay bids the minimum amount to keep you in the
lead up to your
maximum amount. So, you may see the bid is only $1.05.
    Happy bidding.

God bless,
Mark

Hi,
Can you please share us your steps on how you
successfully sent your
bid at the right time, as I have not been successful on
it yet. I
can type in my desired amount on the edit box, and press
enter on
the confirm button, but it didn't work unless to click
it with the
mouse. In this case, I need a sighted help to point the
mouse ready
for clicking. Thank you,

Estelita

Hi Kim,
I am running the latest version of JAWS 10. I was
on E-bay
yesterday
shopping and bought several items. So, it is
accessible. The only
places
I
can think of that might pose issues are there may be a
capture image to
sign
up on E-Bay. Since you will want to have a PayPal
account there may be
a
capture image there also. When you buy an item there is
a place to give
feed
back and mostly a person just uses the space bar on the
button that
matches
your answer. At the bottom of this form is a button
that I always have
to
click with the JAWS cursor. These are the only JAWS
specific issues I
have
run in to.

God bless,
Mark

I am using Jaws 7.0 and am wondering about EBay and
this version of
Jaws.
Is EBay accessible? and are there any special things
that are required
using Jaws.
Thanks.
