Hi Jo,

The keystroke for the cursor position is alt + delete. Take care.

  Hi,
Recently I had a problem with my computer which necessitated
  reinstalling
drivers and programs. I originally had Word 2002, but Word
  2000 was
installed by mistake. It then began acting flaky. I then
  installed Word 2002
from the CD. After registering it, it now reads all the
  menus immediately
when launched. Jaws is not responding correctly when I do an
  Insert Delete
to hear where the cursor is. It says "Line minus 1 Column
  1". Can someone
please help me with this problem? I've tried everything I
  can think of to
do. I'm using the latest version of Jaws 10 with IE 7. Any
  assistance will
  be greatly appreciated.
  Regards, Jo Luland

I had to help someone with a Vista Laptop recently and I was
pretty dismayed with the setup and responsiveness. Unhappily
my wife also had it put on her desktop and a machine,
reasonable under XP, now crawls along. There is no guarantee
at all that software and devices that work in XP will work
in vista. I think it is well known that Vista has been
pretty much a disaster for Microsoft which is why it has
been speeding up the release of Windows 7. Others on this
list have reported that Windows 7 is a great improvement
  over Vista.

Given the imminence of Windows 7 coming out, later on this
month in the UK I think, I would suggest you avoid Laptops
with Vista and wait a little while for ones installed with
  Windows 7 to come out.

  Regards

  David Griffith
