yes, f7 does work for the spell check, however,

I use the alt+shift+l  if I'm correcting on the fly, or, perhaps, if I'm 
looking for the correct spelling, of a particular word. lol,

arrow down, and find the right word, and hit enter on change or ault c for
change sue
