Hi Folks, Just thought i'd post my method of uninstaling avast. Firstly, activate the avast main window. Next, press alt, followed by the right arrow key once, then the down arrow twice until you hear resident protection... Press enter on this option. tab to the slider and set it to 0, then activate the ok button. After this you can try running the uninstalation from control pannel, rebooting after completion. The final step is to run the avast removal tool, which clears any left over junk, such as registry entries, then reboot again.
