The question is this: was IE 8 pre-installed on your friend's computer, or
did she upgrade to IE 8 from IE 7. If she upgraded from IE 7, she should
still be able to roll back to IE 7 from Add/Remove Programs. If not, then
she will have to upgrade to JAWS 11 to use IE 8 or consider using Firefox
instead.

Actually, it's very easy to roll back to IE 7. Just go to Add/Remove
Programs on the Control Panel, arrow down the list of programs until you
land on Windows Internet Explorer 8, tab to the Remove button, and follow
the prompts in the wizard. This will roll you back to IE 7, assuming
that's the version of IE that was originally installed on your computer.
