Hi David
that is exactly how I tried to set up the pacmate, and with m-power picked the serial port and that picks up when I set m-power to terminal and unload jaws then reload. In the packmate how do you pick the option Braille terminal, I am unfamiliar with pacmate so need step by step instructions.

Hello there;

did you go to;

start-menu,

Programs,/jaws-version,

Tools menu,

Synthesizer and Braille manager.

now, you want to add
a Braille display.

down arrow to Braille display,

next tab and enter on the,
add remove button.

you should now see a list of displays,

the pac mate should be the first one.

so, check the box,

now, you tab,
you will hear,

this braille display connects using usb port.

now, tab next.

and, then I believe tab to the finish button.

hope this helps.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] pacmate and jaws

Hi listers
I have just acquired a pacmate omni, and want to set it up as a Braille
terminal with jaws. I have added it as a Braille display and made it the
default. I have connected it to the computer and it recognises it by saying
device connected. I reload jaws but don't get any Braille on the display.
I have set up an m-power in the same way and set the m-power as a terminal
and have no problem with jaws. I am new to the pacmate so any help would be
much appreciated.
