Try expanding the combobox, arrow to your choice but don't press enter, just place your cursor on it, tab to the next combobox and do the same and see what happens. I think you said there were numerous comboboxes that was doing this? With Javascrips comboboxes, if entering on your selection it will load into a new page, so do the aforementioned suggestion and see what happens.
