Thank you all for the advice and comments that I received yesterday on this subject. One of the first things I did was to download the windows site advisor so that I could see what needed to be done to my computer and I must say that the information received was comprehensive. My computer is about five and a half years old and I found out that the RAM was insufficient for upgrading.
Anyway, I have decided to purchase a computer which we will have to assemble, acquire about 6 GB of RAM, using a 500 GB hard drive, and asking a friend who worked in the computer division of a bank where I worked to do the rest of the project. For the time being, until I get my new setup, I will use the computer I have. Hopefully, I should have my new computer within a month.
