Hi David;

I changed the subject line to reflect that we are working with * imbedded *
sound files and not just a sound file in a regular attachment. Take care.
Mike

  Subject: [JAWS-Users] saving a sound file from an email

  I worked over these instructions from Mr. Mike simply in the hope of
stream lining them just a bit. If they are clear enough I'll go ahead and
post them on the server: I await your thoughts.

  Below are the steps on saving an imbedded sound or picture file using
Outlook Express:

  To extract the sound or picture file;
  1. Press control, shift, + O for the options menu.
  2. Control + tab to the read tab.
  3. Check the box read all messages in plain text.
  4. press enter.
  5. Now, open the email, press Insert +A to open the attachment, & the song
  will then appear in the Attach field as a file that can be saved just like
any other attachment.

  To save the sound or picture file:

    1. Go to the file menu and choose save attachments as & press enter.
    2. Browse to where you want to save the sound or picture
    3. tab down to save, press enter, and you're done.

  Sometimes there might be more than 1 file in the attachment so, you will
  have to play around a little bit to get the 1 selected that you want to
save.

  Most people don't know what they're doing and a lot of them are really
good at it.
